Back in the day, Arnold Schwarzenegger was known for his immense size, but he’s also widely recognized for his intense training and relentless work ethic. He says, “If you want to be successful at something, it’s important to be obsessed with it. You have to have the kind of obsession that drives you crazy. You have to do it all the time, no matter what.” This is a great quote for those who are passionate about fitness and training, and want to achieve great things in their lives.

Arnold claims that he doesn’t care how many reps he can do but rather how many times he can do them. One might argue that Arnold’s intense training is also related to his outrageous physique. However, that wasn’t the case for Arnold when he started out. In fact, he was extremely skinny and had a hard time standing up to certain challenges. This is precisely why so many people are reluctant to undertake intense training programs. They’re too afraid that they’ll end up in such a state as Arnold experienced prior to his days of training.

Without a doubt, Arnold’s intensity and passion for fitness continues to inspire countless people all over the world. He created a fitness empire that is still thriving. His Arnold Classic series and the original “Arnold Classic” video have turned into extremely popular and famous training programs.

There’s nothing better than experiencing the fruits of your labor and seeing how your hard work has produced results. I’m sure you’ve had that situation where you accomplished something that you set out to do but it wasn’t until months or years later that you recognized the fruits of your own labor.

Arnold says that the most fulfilling moments in life come from those moments where you get to tell people how great you are. Of course, he’s not just talking about his physique; he’s also referring to being a successful entrepreneur or trainer.

As successful as Arnold’s career and well-known for his results, he’s also a guy that loves to be in his own element. He says, “I have no problem when I’m alone and I’m at home doing my job. My only problem is when I have to go out and be with people. When I leave the house, I want to do things that are really hard; things that require a tremendous amount of effort toward achieving something. That’s when I want to be alone.”

This is yet another quote that speaks to those who love human movement. As great as it is to get motivated by seeing the results of your hard work, you can find true fulfillment in your own performance on the plateaus and mountains of life. It’s not about being perfect or feeling like you’ve accomplished something; it’s just simply being “the best you” can be at a solo effort.

Mark Twain is one of my favorite authors of all time. I’ve included one of his most famous quotes in this article because I believe that he has extremely worthwhile advice for gym members. You’ll see below why I believe that Mark Twain and Arnold Schwarzenegger have the same mindset, but their methods are very different.

Saying “You must do what you think you ought to do and not what others think you ought to do.” is a great way to get started with fitness. Reading this quote will help motivate you to push yourself harder than your friends and loved ones expect from you. This quote will also help you take control of your life, and gives you a good reason to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

“The best way to avoid criticism is to make no statements at all.” – Mark Twain

Here is another quote by a famous author. I’m sure you recognize this quote as the one that goes “Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.” Although the context of this quote may have been changed, it’s still just as valid in every day life.

In order to be successful in fitness, being able to put up with constant hate can be incredibly important. When someone constantly tells you that you can’t do something, or doesn’t believe in your abilities, you’ll inevitably become discouraged and less motivated. This can prevent you from reaching your full potential as a human.

Your goal should be to get through stumbles and obstacles that other people will try to bring to your attention. Once you’ve suffered through a defeat, use it as motivation for the next time that challenge is presented to you. This is a great way to set yourself up for success.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” – Anonymous

Here’s another of my favorite quotes. As great as it feels to reach your fitness goals, it can also be frustrating when things get in the way of your goals. I’m sure you’ve had a lot of people tell you, “it’s too hard” or “that goal is unattainable. “

When you make progress, people may tell you that your progress is not real or doesn’t exist. If this happens to you, it can be really tempting to give up on your goal. The best thing that you can do is ignore the naysayers and continue working hard towards your goals. You can’t let negative comments get in the way of reaching your fitness goals.

“You may rest in peace knowing that although things look bad for a moment, there will always be a way out. Take that first step and you may find that the impossible is suddenly possible.” – Anonymous

This quote applies to a lot of things in life. I’ve included it here because it can also apply to fitness goals. As great as it feels to reach your fitness goals, there are a lot of times when people tell you that your goals are unattainable. When somebody tells you this, use it as motivation to keep going and not give up on reaching your fitness goals.

There are lots of times when things look bad and you find yourself in a seemingly hopeless situation. In order to get through these situations, you have to know that there will always be a solution. There will always be a way out of a plateau or struggle.

Instead of giving up when people say that you can’t reach your goals, realize that the key is to keep moving forward despite everything else around you. When you keep moving forward, your goals become attainable.

“It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves.” – Edmund Hillary

This quote is powerful because it reminds you that you are your biggest obstacle. This can be extremely motivating to those who are trying to reach their fitness goals. As great as it feels to see results on a fitness chart or scale, it can be even better knowing that you overcame yourself and achieved something that you previously didn’t think was possible.

The phrase “it’s not the mountain we conquer but ourselves” means that you should always use your past experience as motivation for the future. As great as it is to see results or progress, this alone will not lead to a successful outcome. You will have to overcome yourself in order for your goals to be achieved.

“Motivation is not a destination.”
